Energy Seal

Radiant energy from the sun is either absorbed by your home and emitted into the conditioned space or reflected - radiant barriers and reflective low-e paint increase your home's ability to reflect solar energy gain keeping your home cooler in the summer. There are two forms of reflective materials on the market:

Radiant barrier: In order for a foil to be considered a true radiant barrier, the material must have an emittance level of less than 10% - FiFoil's Silver Shield radiant barrier, the product we typically install, has an emittance levels of 3%.

Low-e reflective coating: In order for a coating to be considered a reflective coating, the material must have an emittance level of less than 25% - some coatings reach this level of emittance, some don't.
